Talakayang Negosyo at industrial area

JEDDAH, 26 October — Talakayang Negosyo, a forum for discussion of possible livelihood opportunities for OFWs, will be coming to the industrial area of Jeddah very soon.

All OFWs in the area are invited to attend and participate, said Ed Rufino, chair of the Overseas Filipino Workers Cooperative Council’s (OFWCC) Inter-Cooperative Committee.

Rufino said the forum will be held on Nov. 2, from 5 to 9 p.m., at the open BB Court, Phase l, Industrial City.

Resource speakers are selected from from OFWCC officers.

The topics include: business insights, setting goals, the success factor, money management, global Pinoy biz and OFW (cooperative) bank.

Emy de Guzman, general manager of leading cargo forwarder Sky Freight Forwarders, was invited to discuss ‘Order Negosyo,” a franching business for OFWs.

Consul General Kadatuan P. Usop had been invited to give an inspirational message to the expected thousands of Filipinos working in the industrial area.

OFWCC Chairman Jibreel de Vera, said the forum hopes to be an eye-opener for OFWs to prepare themselves to become entrepreneurs.

Start saving your hard earned dollars either through the banking system or by participating in cooperative groups, he said.

OFWCC, accredited by the Manila-based Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) to propagate cooperative movement among OFWs in Saudi Arabia, is ready to assist individual or groups in forming themselves into cooperative groups.
