RIYADH, 12 November — Saudi Arabia will institute an international prize in the name of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd to promote Arabic and Islamic studies, recognize the efforts of scholars and honor personalities and organizations that contribute to world peace and humanitarian activities, it was announced here yesterday.
State Minister Prince Abdul Aziz ibn Fahd said the King Fahd Prize would be along the same lines as the Nobel Prize. He also disclosed a plan to establish an international center for translation in the name of the king.
