DAMMAM, 29 November — The International Football Federation (FIFA) has warned agents of players — who had received licenses before — not to use its name or logo in their future dealings. The FIFA has canceled the licenses it had issued in the past and authorized the national football federations to issue such licenses to the agents. The FIFA also warned the agents, who exploit its name and logo, that they would be fined huge sums of money and prevented from carrying out their profession. It may also ask the local federation to withdraw the licenses it had issued to such offending agents. The international federation has given until the end of this year for the agents to change their publications and licenses. Meanwhile, FIFA has made it compulsory for the agents to get an insurance policy to cover the risks involved in their activities. If unable to do that, they have to produce a bank guarantee for 100,000 Swiss francs issued by a Swiss bank.
