Campaign to pull down parking curbs

JEDDAH, 1 December — The Jeddah Municipality has instructed all shop owners in the city to remove the chains and poles that stop vehicles from parking in front of them. The municipality has already launched a campaign to remove such parking obstructions after receiving complaints from the public. In a statement carried by Al-Riyadh Arabic daily, the municipality warned shop owners that putting up such chains or other obstructions will result in fines of up to SR5,000. The municipality has already removed chains and posters installed in front of more than 300 shops, the statement added.
