Special care center in Madinah

MADINAH, 1 December — Prince Sultan, second deputy premier and minister of defense and aviation, opened here yesterday a special care center for handicapped children. After the opening ceremony, Prince Sultan toured the center to inspect its various facilities. The center has been established by the Disabled Children’s Association in the King Fahd District, east of Madinah. There are 3,699 handicapped children in Madinah with 55 percent of them having more than one handicap caused by environmental and hereditary reasons. The center, covering an area of 25,000 square meters, comprises educational, rehabilitation and treatment facilities.
