JEDDAH, 27 December — Makkah Police have succeeded in unraveling the mystery surrounding the murder of a 22-year-old expat woman on Monday. They discovered that her brother, who informed them about the death in the first place, was in fact the real culprit. The man had earlier said the woman died while giving birth to her baby. However, the doctor who examined the dead body found marks indicating that she had been strangled. On being questioned a second time, the man confessed that he killed his unmarried young sister because she had become pregnant and thus brought disgrace on him and his family. Police will hand over the accused to the legal authorities after completing their inquiries, said Col. Muhammad Al-Nufaei, who conducted the investigations. Instances of murder of close relatives are seemingly on the increase. In Jamoum, a man killed his small daughter in an attempt to kill both his children on the eve of Eid Al-Fitr. On Friday, a man from a Taif village killed his aged mother while they were returning from Baha and left her body in a ravine
