Ladies club president

RIYADH, 14 January — A prominent social activist Shagufta Soomro has been elected president of Humnawan club, a 14-year-old social and cultural association of Pakistani ladies living in Riyadh. Other office bearers chosen through a poll held at Pakistan Embassy under the supervision of Rakshanda Durrani, the wife of the Pakistani ambassador, include Samina Arif (general secretary), Asma Ijaz (membership secretary) and Farzana Chughtai (treasurer). Nabila Reyaz, election commissioner, was assisted by two ladies to conduct the poll.
