Rizwan, Asif & Masood shine: RCA SFB tilt

JEDDAH, 18 January — Rizwan Qayyum, Masood Hussain, Asif Kazmi and Imran Javed turned in sterling performances and helped their sides Carrier and Meezan Spices to resounding victories while SAMBA’s Imran Javed’s fine knock went in vain in the ongoing RCA 40 over SFB tournament at Al-Sulay grounds.

In the "A" division matches, Carrier outclassed Indo-Pak at RCA-4 grounds. Batting first, helped by a brilliant unbeaten 135 with 12 fours and 2 sixes by Rizwan Qayyum and fine all-round performance by Asif Kazmi (71 runs & 5 wickets for 11 runs) Carrier amassed 332 in their stipulated 40 overs. Syed Hasnain contributed 52 with 4 fours and 1 six to the total.

In reply, Indo-Pak could not stand to the guiles of Asif Kazmi and were shut out for just 85 runs. At RCA-6 grounds Mehran scored easy victory against Pak-Shaheen. Winning the toss and electing to bat Pak-Shaheen were 167 all out. Mehran scored the required runs losing 2 wickets in just 21.3 overs.

In another match, Saudia Milk effortlessly got the better of Fighters at RCA-3 grounds. Chasing the score, Milkmen made 197 for 3 in 22 overs. Khalid Mahmood scored a fine 81 including 8 fours and 4 sixes while Kashif contributed 52 including 5 fours. Earlier, Fighters were all out for 196.

In "B" division matches, Mohammed Masood Hussain scintillating 108 with 16 fours helped Meezan Spices to resounding victory over Pathfinders C.C. at RCA-7 grounds.

Waheed contributed fine 67 with 4 fours and 1 six to the Meezan Spices total. At RCA-2 ground, Imran Javed of SAMBA was unlucky to miss the coveted three figure by just 4 runs. His brilliant 96 with 7 fours went in vain as his side lost to Al-Eid XI by 32 runs. Earlier, Al-Eid XI were 282 all out. Asif contributed with 57 including 7 fours and 1 six and Nazim Siddiqui scored 61 including 6 fours in Al-Eid XI total. Elsewhere PIA Young recorded 9 wickets victory against Young Stars at RCA-1 ground. For PIA Young Imran Kifayat turned in with good all round performance (61 n.o. & 4 for 32) and Adnan Majeed batted well and contributed 64 with 6 fours to the total.
