RIYADH, 15 February — The International Indian School Riyadh (IISR), Pakistan International School Riyadh-PISR (US) scored easy wins over their rivals PISR (ES) and Manaret Al-Riyadh in the Under-17 group while Al-Momin and PISR (US) beat British School Riyadh and PISR (ES) in the Under-14 group in Arab News, Power Horse inter-school tournament ties at RCA grounds.
Batting first after winning the toss PISR (ES) scored 140 for 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Saiful-Haq scored superb 59 hitting four boundaries. IISR’s Ranjeet and Anees bowled well and took one wicket each giving away 29 and 24 runs. Chasing the target, IISR helped by their star player J. Lohit who scored an unbeaten 41 with four fours and Riaz Ahmed who made 38 with three hits to the fence romped home easily in 14.1 overs losing four wickets. Anus took two wickets while Salman and Arsalan took a wicket each for PISR (ES).
In another match, PISR (US) beat Manaret Al-Riyadh.
In Under-14 group, Al-Momin helped by a brilliant unbeaten 68 from Syed Salman Mohiuddin easily beat British School Riyadh at RCA-1 ground. Taking first strike, Al-Momin’s opening pair of Syed Salman and Faisal gave a flying start to their team. Faisal scored beautiful 43 with the help of four hits to the fence. Adeel Rana added 12 runs to the Al-Momin total of 157 for 4 in 20 overs. For British School, Saad took 2 wickets while Bernard and Ahsan took one wicket each.
In reply, British School could not stand to the bowling of Mohsin Ali and Usman and were all out for 102. Only Nauroze and Samad reched double figures. Both scored 17 runs. For Al-Momin, Mohsin Ali and Usman took 3 wickets each conceding 6 and 11 runs respectively. The other wicket-takers were Shazib Saleem 1 for 17 and Adeel Rana 1 for 9.
In another match, PISR (US) beat PISR (ES) at RCA-4 grounds. PISR (ES) batting first, scored 172 for 4 in their stipulated 20 overs.
