Philanthropist buys prisoners freedom

JEDDAH, 17 February — A philanthropist in Wadi Al-Dawasir has helped secure the release of a number of people from prison by paying their debts worth SR350,000, Al-Riyadh Arabic newspaper reported yesterday. Brig. Muhammad Al-Owaijan, director of the Prisons Department, said the prisoners were released soon after the money was received.
