NAJRAN, 1 March — Najran Governor Prince Mishaal ibn Saud said yesterday that the authorities would keep a close watch on camels wandering on the border with Yemen in a bid to prevent drug smuggling.
Speaking to Arab News, the governor said: “We will seize camels that cross unauthorized crossing points. We have taken the measure after receiving information that camels are being used as drug carriers.” He said the Interior Ministry has issued a directive giving power to the border guards to seize any animal found crossing the border illegally.
