Sultan inaugurates seminar on Fahd

ABHA, 4 March 2002 — Prince Sultan, second deputy premier and minister of defense and aviation, yesterday inaugurated a seminar on Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd’s contribution to the Kingdom’s educational development. The seminar was organized by King Khaled University. In his opening speech, Prince Sultan described King Fahd as the pioneer of education in the Kingdom. He said the number of schools in the country has increased from 3,283 in 1970 to over 23,000 at present. “The number of students also rose from 600,000 to more than five million,” the prince said.
