JEDDAH, 4 April — Interior Minister Prince Naif said yesterday that the recent incident in Al-Jauf was the “rash venting of zealous sympathy” by 150 young men for the Palestinian people suffering at the hands of the Israeli forces. In a statement, the interior minister said that such conduct will not be permitted and should not be repeated because it does not conform to “our social reality as the Kingdom’s historical stance toward the Palestinian struggle has been marked by sincere actions and not by pretty words.”
Prince Naif also expressed the sympathy of the Saudi government and people with the Palestinians “who are being exposed to Israel’s war of extermination, murder, eviction and violation of all legitimate rights.”
Prince Naif, who heads the Saudi Committee to Support the Palestinian Intifada, ordered the payment of SR9.35 million to implement various charity projects in the occupied Palestinian territories. He also ordered the supply of 200,000 blankets to the displaced Palestinians. The prince urged the public to continue supporting the Palestinian people being terrorized by the Zionist enemy. The donations can be deposited in the account no. 90 in all Saudi banks. (SPA)
