Pakistani drowns in septic tank

LAITH, 23 April — A Pakistani laborer drowned in a septic tank in a residential district of Laith, 180 kilometers south of Makkah, recently. The expatriate passed out while cleaning the tank, which was filled with toxic gases, according to Sami Al-Jadaani, director of Civil Defense in Laith. His fellow workers sought Civil Defense help when he failed to respond to their calls. By the time the rescue team pulled him out of the tank he was dead, the official said.
