JEDDAH, 26 April — Jizan Governor Prince Muhammad ibn Nasser has ordered the transfer of two female teachers after they disrupted the smooth functioning of classes in a girls’ intermediate school in Samita, 110 kilometers from Jizan, a few days ago.

The two teachers, who are sisters, quarrelled and fought with other teachers in the school.

The other teachers, humiliated by the sisters, refused to come to the school for the next two days, resulting in the suspension of classes.

Prince Muhammad issued the transfer of the aggressive sisters after an inquiry.

“The two teachers fought with other teachers at the square in front of the school and caused the disruption of classes on Wednesday and Saturday,” according to an official at the girls’ education department in the region.

An inquiry committee, with members from the Samita governorate and the girls’ education department in the region, interviewed the victims of the offending teachers.

The teachers complained that the two sisters beat and humiliated them. They also complained that the sisters threatened to kill them, the source said.

A number of parents of pupils at the school told Arab News that the dispute has been going on for two years, but no action was taken, despite the fact that the teachers had complained to the authorities several times.
