LUCKNOW, 5 May — The All India Muslim Forum has given a call for the social boycott of the Muslim legislators of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). The BSP has formed the Uttar Pradesh government with the support of the Hindu extremist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The party has 14 Muslim members in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. The Lucknow unit chief of the forum, Aftab Ahmad, said the continuance of the Muslim legislators in the BSP is a sign that these power hungry leaders are nothing but liabilities on the community and have no time to see through the misery of the Muslim community suffered at the hand of the BJP-led government. This is more condemnable, specially when the fire in riot-hit Gujarat is still burning.
