RIYADH, 15 May — Saudi Arabia gave up the lead twice but hung on to beat fellow World Cup participants Senegal 3-2 in an international football friendly yesterday.
Saudi Arabian star Sami Al-Jaber converted a penalty in the ninth minute only to be equalized just before the break by Henri Camara in front of the Riyadh crowd.
Ibrahim Al Suwaid gave the Saudis the lead again three minutes into the second half only to have El Hadji Diouf convert a penalty of his own just two minutes later.
Saudi Arabia, who will play three-time world champions Germany, Cameroon and Ireland in Group E of the May 31-June 30 World Cup, went ahead for a third and final time in the 57th minute through Al Yami.
And Senegal, who will face defending world champions France, Denmark and Uruguay in Group A of the World Cup, went a man down shortly after the hour mark when Ndiao was red-carded.
