US Embassy hikes visa fees

RIYADH, 31 May — The US Embassy has announced that the application fee for the machine-readable nonimmigrant visa will increase from $45 to $65 from tomorrow. The increase applies to all nonimmigrant visa categories, such as tourist, business and student visas. Visas for official travel are exempted from the increase. A statement issued by the embassy also said the initial fee for notarial services will fall from $55 to $30. However, a new fee of $20 will be levied against each additional signature if a consular officer witnesses and notarizes multiple signatures. (JH)
