Dentist assaults child patient: An Arab female dentist in Abqaiq attacked a six-your-old boy while extracting a tooth and caused the boy to bleed profusely. She also ordered the boy, Khaled, and his father out of the hospital without completing the extraction or taking steps to stop the bleeding. The boy was then rushed to another hospital to complete the surgery. The victim’s father demanded immediate action against the dentist.

No banned medicines, please: Following complaints from dental patients of some of their dentists still using the banned arsenic, Dr. Abdul Qadir Al-Tayyeb, director general of health affairs in Madinah, said dental clinics would be inspected to ensure that no prohibited medicine is used there.

Four die in road accident: Four people were killed in a traffic accident when a speeding mini truck carrying them hit the rear of a van on a flyover on the Abu Arish – Sabya road in Jizan recently. The speeding vehicle overturned several times and fell onto the road below killing the four and seriously injuring a fifth person. The injured man is in intensive care at the King Fahd Central Hospital in Jizan.

Qatari woman dies in car crash: A Qatari woman was killed and her husband sustained serious injuries when their car collided with a truck in Hofuf in the Eastern Province on Friday. The Ahsa-bound family was coming from Qatar. The accident occurred when the Syrian driver of the truck suddenly turned left without signaling. The injured man was admitted to King Fahd Hospital in Hofuf.

Blaze hits house in Bisha: A house in the southern city of Bisha was totally destroyed in a fire caused by electrical short-circuit. Nobody was hurt as Muhammad Al-Jazwan, owner of the house, and his family were away at the time. Losses were estimated at SR50,000.

Youth’s body found in Madinah: A youth’s body was found in a pool of blood in front of Al-Zahra Hospital on the Airport road in Madinah on Saturday morning. Police sources in eastern Madinah said the youth appeared to have injected an overdose of some narcotic. Investigations are continuing.

Hit-and-run driver tracked down: Police in Mahayil Asir arrested an Indian car driver who fled after running over a Sudanese driver who was inspecting his truck at a fuel station. Police are investigating if the car driver, who was tracked down to a nearby village, caused the accident deliberately.
