At a recent Regional Sales and Marketing Forum, Gordon Jones, president, Canon Middle East, commented on the company’s strong performance: “Growth for Canon in the Middle East has been consistent, and very strong since we started direct operations here in 1998,” said Jones. “Every year we’ve achieved an increase of around 40 percent, which has taken this market from just a fraction of a percent, to an appreciable contribution to worldwide revenues. Maintaining this sort of steady growth can only be done by working as a team — Canon, our distributors, and the dealers.” One of the new products unveiled at the forum, pending its Middle East launch, was the SmartBase MPC600, Canon’s first flat-bed multifunction device, bringing together Canon’s printing, high-speed color fax and scanner technology in one fully-featured device.
