Saudi flag to be hoisted on frigate

RIYADH, 23 July — Vice Admiral Fahd ibn Abdullah ibn Mohammed, Commander of the Naval Forces, will hoist on Friday the Saudi flag on the frigate "Jalalat Al-Malek-Riyadh" in Toulon, France. The ship, the first of "Al-Sawari Project-2" with the French government, is one of the most modern in the world with a new design and is equipped with sophisticated arms and anti-aircraft and anti-submarine rockets. It boasts advanced systems for radar detection and electronic warfare against submarines. (SPA)
