JEDDAH, 26 July — Police arrested three Africans for practicing black magic in poor neighborhoods in central and north Jeddah. The three, who distributed a special potion to attract men to women or vice versa, resorted to various deceptive techniques to lure clients

Following complaints from a number of Saudis and expatriates about the trio’s dubious practices police kept a secret watch on their activities.

Investigations revealed that the gang claimed to cure almost all diseases while specializing in sexual debility and sterility.

According to informed sources the arrested persons were very clever in attracting gullible people to their homes and then persuading them to collaborate. It is suspected that the gang was also linked to money "doubling" racket.

In a related report from Madinah, an Indonesian maid was arrested for practicing sorcery to lure her sponsor toward her and hate his wife, Al-Nadwa reported yesterday. The sponsor discovered her illegal practice while the family moved to a new building. The man immediately complained to police.

In a third incident, an elderly woman was arrested in Hail after she allegedly resorted to witchcraft in a bid to cause separation between some close relatives.
