RIYADH, 31 July — Saudi Research & Publishing Company, publishers of Arab News, Asharq Al-Awsat, Al-Eqtisadiah and 13 other publications, will hold a big draw at its headquarters here today to select winners of 10 Mitsubishi Lancer cars worth SR500,000 from among the subscribers of its publications.
The draw is held as part of SRPC’s subscription campaign for 2001-2002. New subscribers as well as those who renewed their subscription before May 30, 2002 could enter the draw, a company statement said.
Dr. Fahd Al-Tayash, director general of the company, Abdullah Al-Qahtani, assistant director general, Tarek Sharafuddin, deputy director general of Saudi Distribution Company, and a representative of Arthur Andersen, external supervisor of the draw, will take part in the function.
The statement said winners of prizes at today’s draw could also participate in another draw to be held in September-end for major prizes worth SR2 million. The major prizes are: SR1 million (first prize) SR100,000 (second) and SR50,000 (third). In addition, 10 winners will get a total of SR200,000 (SR20,000 each) and 15 winners SR150,000 (SR10,000 each).
The company also offers a Panasonic recorder to each subscriber to five or more of its publications apart from 100 gold sets to 100 winners presented by Taiba Gold & Jewelry Company. The winners for these prizes will also be picked during the September draw. The company offers discounts up to 50 percent during the present subscription campaign, the statement said. The names of all subscribers will be automatically entered in the draw for Asharq Al-Awsat cultural contest prizes worth SR12 million (SR1 million monthly) as well as in the draws organized by various publications.
The company offers a special discount of 20 percent for a two-month period from July 1 to Aug. 31, even for the subscribers in a single publication. The offer coincides with summer tourism festivals in various parts of the Kingdom. During this period it offers prizes worth SR500,000 to subscribers. The first prize winner will receive SR50,000, the second SR25,000, and the third SR15,000. Moreover, 21 winners will get a total of SR105,000 (SR5,000 each), and 35 winners SR105,000 at the rate of SR3,000 each. Ten winners will get their subscription money back.
