DUBAI, 17 August — The future of a regional population — comprising 1.8 billion people, 31 countries and a combined gross domestic product (GDP), estimated at $1.5 trillion — will be discussed at the second annual Dubai Strategy Forum which will be held in Dubai from Oct. 28-30.
The forum will bring together government and business leaders, along with key representatives from academia, media and civil society, to engage in open dialogue, discussion and debate about the challenges facing the region. The region incorporates North and East Africa, Central and South Asia, the broader Middle East, including the Gulf states.
Gen. Mohammed ibn Rashid Al-Maktoum, crown prince of Dubai and UAE minister of defense, is scheduled to play an active role at the three-day forum, earmarked to attract almost 1,000 participants.
The first day of the three-day event will focus on governance and what countries can do to facilitate economic growth and address the issues confronting the region. Day two will spotlight business and economic issues. The final day will shed lights on learning, innovation and technology, as well as a panel discussion on the future of the region.
The Dubai Strategy Forum will be organized by Dubai Media City, Emirates, ENOC, Gulf News, National Bank of Dubai and PricewaterhouseCoopers at Jumeirah Beach Hotel Conference Center.
