LONDON, 31 August — Prince Faisal ibn Salman, brother of the late Prince Ahmad ibn Salman, has denied a New York Times report that Kentucky Derby winner War Emblem was to be offered to New York City on the anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks. "The report published by the American newspaper on Aug. 29 is baseless," the prince told Asharq Al-Awsat, a sister publication of Arab News. The New York Times published a report on the Saudi government’s public relations drive to improve its image among the Americans while emphasizing the Kingdom’s strong relations with the United States. The paper also reported that War Emblem, owned by the late Prince Ahmad, was to be offered as a gift to the families of the 9/11 victims as an expression of solidarity.
