RIYADH, 9 September — The Shoura Council yesterday resumed its sessions after the summer recess. The session was attended by visiting leader of the government in the Canadian House of Commons Don Boudria and his delegation, Saudi Ambassador to Canada Dr. Mohammed Al-Husseini and Canadian Ambassador to the Kingdom Melvyn MacDonalds. Several topics were discussed in the opening session.
Meanwhile, the Shoura Council members of the Foreign Affairs Committee met here with the visiting Canadian delegation and exchanged views on a number of topics and ways of boosting relations between the two countries as well as between the Shoura Council and the Canadian Parliament.
The council members explained the true position of the Kingdom and its people, emphasizing that the ongoing biased foreign media campaign sought to harm the Saudi government and its citizens. (SPA)
