Sir Syed Day on Oct. 24

JEDDAH, 17 September — Traditional Sir Syed Day will be celebrated by the alumni of Aligarh Muslim University in Jeddah on Oct. 24, according to Sayed Mushtaq Ahmad, general secretary of the Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys Association (AMUOBA) Jeddah Chapter. Former Indian ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Hamid Ansari, who recently retired as vice chancellor of the AMU, will be the chief guest on the occasion. Ansari, a prominent Aligarian, will also be visiting Doha for an international seminar. Further information about the annual Founder’s Day dinner will be made public in the coming days.
