Bahrain to host conference on chemistry in industry

ALKHOBAR, 24 September — The fifth International Conference and Exhibition on Chemistry in Industry will take place in Manama, Bahrain from Oct. 14 to 16.

The Saudi Arabian International Chemical Sciences Chapter of the American Chemical Society and the Bahrain Society of Chemists are joint organizers of the event. The conference will provide an opportunity for scientists and engineers from different parts of the world to meet

and discuss the rising challenges in the petroleum and petrochemical industries. The exhibition, which will be held on the sidelines of the technical sessions, will feature the latest products and services associated with the petroleum and petrochemical industries.

The conference’s theme is "Innovation and Technology in the Petroleum and Chemical Industries- Addressing Sulfur Challenges." It will cover a wide range of petroleum and petrochemical issues that are major concerns for the development and advancement of the oil industry in the Gulf region and in other parts of the world. There will be a special session on sulfur, where selected international

speakers will be addressing desulfurization and sulfur utilization. A wide range of technical sessions will also be held, including petroleum chemistry, process chemistry, polymer chemistry, oilfield chemistry and water chemistry.

Before the conference, two courses are scheduled on Oct. 12 and 13. The course on clean fuel will cover the specifications and latest development in the area of producing fuels including gasoline, jet fuel and diesel.

The course on water desalination will address the history
