RIYADH, 28 September — A 16-member Saudi business delegation is scheduled to visit the US state of Virginia tomorrow to meet with American businessmen to discuss prospects of strengthening economic, investment and commercial ties.
The visit comes at the invitation of Virginia Governor Mark Warner. Abdul Aziz Al-Quraishi, co-chairman of Saudi-American Business Council, expressed hope that the visit would help increase Saudi-US joint projects in industrial and other areas. Currently, there are 312 joint ventures involving a total investment of SR96 billion.
The projected Saudi-US business meeting will discuss ways of financing joint projects, Quraishi said.
The number of Saudi-US industrial projects accounted for 20 percent of a total of 475 joint ventures in the industrial sector in 2000.
