Philippine Embassy to host bazaar

RIYADH, 12 October — The Philippine Embassy will host on Thursday the annual Oriental Ladies Group (OLG) Bazaar, which includes exhibits of Asian crafts and Oriental cuisines from 12 participating countries. The event will start at 4:00 p.m. in the Philippine Embassy grounds. Babes Hidalgo, the embassy’s cultural attache and an OLG member, told Arab News that pearls, wooden artifacts and other handicraft from the Philippines will be among the products featured at the bazaar. Proceeds will go to an as-yet-unspecified charitable institution. A cook book named Oriental Cooking will be launched at the bazaar. It features chosen recipes from Bangladesh, Brunei, China, India, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore and Sri Lanka. — Roland Blanco
