MADINAH, 25 October — The inaugural match for 2nd MCA Saudi Airlines Cup between Samsung and Sadafco was won by Sadafco. Tournament is being sponsored by Al-Dakheel Travel through Saudi Arabian Airlines. Batting first Samsung were all out for 209 runs in 26 overs. With the help of five boundaries each, Ihsan and Fidaullah scored 56 and 35 runs, respectively. Irfan Thakur, playing his first match in the MCA also scored 33 runs. Qurban scored 29 runs. Ejaz from Sadafco captured four wickets while Zahid Ali bagged three wickets. Afzal and Adeeb took one each.
In reply Sadafco achieved the target in 27 overs after losing five wickets. Ejaz once again played well and hammered 66 runs with six boundaries and two sixes. Mustafa made 26 with four boundaries while Nisar remained not out and scored 46 runs with two fours and one six. Irfan Thakur took two wickets while Asif, Ramzan Nikyana and Ashfaq took one wicket each.
Prior to the game Ziad Dakheel the director of Al-Dakheel Travel, officially inaugurated the match by hitting the ball, which was thrown by Siddique Shiekh the deputy director Pakistan Haj Mission Madinah Munawwara. Abdul Aziz Abu Laban, official coordinator form Saudi Arabian Airlines and other dignitaries from the expatriate community, were also present at ground at the time of the inauguration.
MCA Patron-in-Chief Abdul Samea Noor also witnessed the event.
