JEDDAH, 30 October — ABS-CBN The Filipino Channel is launching a new program for OFWs. To be called Balitang Middle East, the 30-minute weekly newsmagazine will feature news, information and public service for OFWs.

The show is hosted by Marieton Pacheco, said Danny Buenafe, bureau chief of ABS-CBN Middle East News.

Balitang Middle East will also feature the latest news updates from OFW communities, special reports on the life of OFWs, job openings and announcement portion and a kumustahan segment where OFWs can reunite with their families and relatives via phone patch.

“We believe that the launching of the 30-minute program, Balitang Middle East, will be a major breakthrough in terms of exposing the worthy activities of various Filipino organizations in the Gulf region,” said Buenafe.

Pacheco and Buenafe will be working with 17 correspondents from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and the UAE.

Balitang Middle East will premiere on Nov. 8 on TFC. The new program will also be shown in the Philippines through ANC, the news channel of ABS-CBN.
