2m faithful pray on 27th night of Ramadan

MAKKAH, 2 December 2002 — More than two million Muslims prayed in this holy city last night, the 27th night of Ramadan.

“More than two million faithful, including visitors performing Umrah, citizens and expatriates, prayed at the Grand Mosque in Makkah”, Saudi Press Agency said. Prayers were held in and around the Grand Mosque.

Pilgrims flock to the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah during Ramadan, especially in the last 10 days of the holy month.

The holiest night falls on the 27th of the month, which marks the revelation of the Holy Qur’an to Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.
