HYDERABAD, 16 December 2002 — Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party President N. Chandrababu Naidu yesterday hoped that the poll outcome in Gujarat would lead to peace and harmony and overall development of that state.
In a brief comment on the Assembly election results in Gujarat, Naidu said: “In a parliamentary form of democracy, people’s verdict is final.”
Expressing happiness on the peaceful conduct of the polls in the state that had witnessed unprecedented communal violence earlier this year, he said “since the elections are over, it is hoped that all sections of society would pay greater attention to peace and harmony and overall development of that state.”
