Peribit Networks announced the installation of its Molecular Sequence Reduction (MSR) technology at Riyadh-based Al Bank Al Saudi Al Fransi (BSF). The bank is Peribit’s first customer in the Middle East. Worley Arabia Communications, Peribit’s Saudi Arabia-based regional partner, will conduct all related installation, service and support work. Peribit’s MSR technology uses DNA pattern-matching techniques to dramatically increase wide area network (WAN) capacity. Peribit’s Sequence Reducer products provide immediate WAN bandwidth gains, which result in significant cost savings for regional companies, both in terms of infrastructure development and operation. BSF was faced with the dilemma to either purchase more bandwidth or invest in Peribit’s MSR technology. BSF’s choice of Peribit has subsequently enabled it to increase its WAN capacity by four times. “Our first concern in selecting Peribit Network’s MSR technology was optimizing our network capacity and capability — cost reduction was a secondary concern for us,” said Ahmed Al-Kassim, head, Open Systems/Telecommunications and IT Development Division, BSF. “After testing the equipment internally, we were sufficiently convinced that the bank would receive immediate benefit from the technology, and with almost no related administrative costs. In fact, Al Bank Al Saudi Al Fransi estimates that our newly installed Peribit Network’s MSR Technology will pay for itself in less than one year.”
