RIYADH, 20 December 2002 — The House of Donuts one-day family Keg-fest organized by the Overseas Filipino Workers Bowlers of Riyadh (OFWBR) is set to roll-off on Dec. 18, 2002 at the Riyadh Inter-Continental Hotel Bowling Center.
Registration will commence at 7:30 p.m. and roll-off time is 8:00 p.m. The event is open to all male and female bowlers regardless of their nationality and classification. The entry fee is SR60. The bowlers will play a five-game series with handicap to determine the champion and runners-up via sudden death format. Handicaps are as follows: Class A-0, Class B-4, Class C-8, and Class D-12. Female novice bowler will be given a 20 handicaps per game.
A special event competition has been arranged and initial cash prize of SR1,250 has been alloted for this game. The cash prize will be increased depeding on the total of tickets that will be taken by the bowlers. The players who will play in this special event competition are Joel Alegre, Reyna Dominguez, Gigi Enriquez, Joe Concepcion, Arnel Gordovez, Abet Azarcon, Yusuf Fernandez, Marvin Arocena, Rene Tanglao and Ben Cariaga. Bowlers will play a three-game series scratch and the games will start on the third game.
A maximum of sixty (60) bowlers will be allowed to play in this tournament. Bowlers who wish to join the event may register their name at the Inter-Con Bowling Counter and look for Saju, Abdullah or Hashim.
Winners will receive cash prizes based on the total number of the participants. Fun game prizes will be donated by the House of Donuts, the America’s finest pastries through its officials, Ahmad Sadik, Deputy General Manager, Kasim P.P., Area Manager, Mohamad Ruhul Amin, sales supervisor and Mammed Moyin, supervisor.
Meanwhile, the OFWBR Yuletide One-Day Bowlfest will start on schedule on Dec. 26, 2002 at the FAL Bowling Center. Registration fee is SR60 and registration time will start 7:30 in the evening. Roll-off time will be at 8:00 p.m. The event is supported by the House of Donuts, SkyFreight Forwarders, Splash (Al-Bandar Trading Co.), Pinoy Supermarket, Forex Cargo, the ABS-CBN The Filipino Channel (TFC) and Khaled Hamod, Proprietor of the FAL Bowling Center.
