KASAPI opens programs for OFW month

JEDDAH, 27 December 2002 — The opening of the yearly celebration of the OFW month will be held today at the premises of the Consulate General of the Philippines.

Organized by the KASAPI Congress under the auspices of the Philippine Consulate and in cooperation with other community groups, KASAPI chairman Ben Garcia invites all members of the Filipino community to share and participate in the celebration starting at 8 in the morning with a medical, dental & optical outreach mission courtesy of the various volunteer medical teams coming from hospitals in Jeddah like United Doctors Hospital, Dr. Erfan & Bagedo Hospital, Al Timraz Polyclinic, Bab Makkah Polyclinic, Shar Medical Clinic, Saudi German Hospital, Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital, Bugshan Hospital, Abu Zinada Hospital, New Jeddah Clinic Hospital, El Magrabi Hospital, Bawadi Polyclinic and Bashawri Hospital.

Billy Felipe, John Asperilla III and Abdulfatah Mogawan are in-charge of this project.

Aside from the medical, dental & optical mission, there will also be an outreach move to help the distressed workers by the leadership of KASAPI and other community groups.

An investment forum to be conducted by PICPA will be held at the same venue in the afternoon.

The evening program will be a cultural presentation and expected to grace the occasion is the Hon. Consul General Kadatuan P. Usop, Labor attaché Carlos Sta. Ana of POLO and Welfare officer Mustapha Glang and other community leaders.

The main feature of the cultural program is a singing & dancing contest to be staged by the production crew of Alvaro (John) Asperilla III, Mario Germinio, Jeff & Estela De Leon, Sid & Seth Riel, Daryl Sapalo, Cris Tacaban and Rodolfo Saturno.

Prizes and trophies will be awarded to winners by Gil Manese ((KASAPI secretary-general ) together with KASAPI vice chairman Rudy Dianalan & Deputy secretary-general Gerry Cuares.

The KASAPI Congress leadership wishes to extend its thanks and appreciation to the companies, offices and individuals who in one way or another contributed to to its efforts in the making of the OFW month celebration for the year 2002, chairman Ben Garcia added. (Gil Manese)
