RIYADH, 27 December 2002 — To accommodate the number of the participants who will participate in the prestigious 2003 Haj Goodwill Games organized and hosted by the Overseas Filipino Workers Bowlers of Riyadh (OFWBR), the games has been moved to the Riyadh Inter-Continental Hotel Bowling Center instead of the FAL Bowling Center as disclosed by Noli Ritual, Overall Chairman, Organizing Committee and Riyadh Inter-Continental Hotel Recreation Manager, Mark Roberts. A total of 144 players consisting of thirty six teams will be seen-in action to contest for the coveted titles in each event. The games will be held on Feb. 11-13, 2003 and the players will be divided in three squading starting from 8:00 a.m. till 11:00 in the evening . The event that will be played are Team, Doubles, Singles, All Events and the prestigious masters event wherein the 2002 Haj masters champion Vher Cayago of Riyadh will defend his title. The participants from the Central Region who have submitted their registration which will represent the Riyadh Delegation are Riyadh 1 — Jimmy Medina, Larry Mondoy, Oca Bernabe and Benny Mondoy. Riyadh 2 — Joey Maningas, Jojo Demetrio, Yuli Braganza and Ronald Bautista. Riyadh 3 — Atoy Malubay, Rolly Amis, Jun Malana and Abdulrahman Jose. Riyadh 4 — Rod Basilio, Jomari de Luna, Marvin Arocena and Cas Encilla. Riyadh 5 — Ben Timpog and company. Riyadh 6 — Onette Orca, Jun Ausa, Rey Dominguez and Jhun Visda. Riyadh 7 — Rene Tanglao, Jell Tan, Fred Zacarias and Malco Muyco. Riyadh 8 — Pep Maghinay, Leo Mabunga, Arnold Bellen and Cris Crisostomo. Riyadh 9 — Junior Bowlers — Fernie Balano, Carlo Abulencia, JR Raymundo and Kevin Amis. Riyadh 10 — Glenn Espiritu, Mel Solas, Edwin Bathan and Nolie Medrano. Riyadh 11 — Bobby Ferrera, Toto Villalva, Nestor Ranido and Abet Azarcon. Riyadh 12 and Riyadh 13 for the team of Benjie Domado and four (4) teams for the Riyadh-500.
At press time, only three (3) more teams are available for the Riyadh Delegation. The Delegation who have confirmed their participation are the Filipino Tenpin Bowlers, Eastern Region (Filbowlers) of Boy Tuazon, Khobar’s 500 of Jun Canar, Dammam-500 of Loi Narvadez, Asir/Abha of Ver Crisostomo, Taif Filipino Bowlers of Omar and the Riyadh Delegation. The Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Jeddah/Brotherhood Bowling Group of Rally Zamora and Arnold Alday will confirm their participation upon the arrival of their top caliber bowlers from Manila who are still in vacation.
Five teams has been allotted for the FTBJ/BBG Delegation. Format: The tournament is open to all Filipino bowlers and to be eligible to join the event, a bowler should be a member of a 4-men team. Female bowlers are allowed in the team on optional basis only. Scoring system: Team, doubles and singles events scratch scores will be carried forward to determine the All Events ranking for each bowler. (Ricnol Mondrit)
