RIYADH, 28 December 2002 — Crown Prince Abdullah, deputy premier and commander of the National Guard who is also chairman of the Equestrian Club, attended the horse race for the Crown Prince’s Cups for Arabian and thoroughbred horses held at the King Abdul Aziz race course at Janadriya yesterday.
The crown prince presented the winner’s cup to Ahmed Al-Shayei, jockey of Wiznan owned by the sons of Saud ibn Ruzaiq Al-Shaibani; runner-up cup to Mohammed Al-Fihaid, jockey of Rima owned by Saleh ibn Ali Al-Hammadi; and second runner-up cup to Khaled Al-Riwaished, jockey of Aseela owned by Hamad ibn Mohammed Almutawae.
Al-Shaibani family also won a car for the victory of its horse.
The Crown Prince’s trophy for Arabian horses was awarded to Prince Faisal ibn Khaled, owner of Shagar which came first while the cup for imported horses went to Prince Sultan ibn Mohammed and Turki ibn Mohammed, co-owners of the winning horse Gayed Al-Khail. (SPA)
