ABHA, 18 January 2003 — Police in Jizan have arrested 23 Africans who illegally entered the Kingdom, including three women who are suffering from AIDS, a security source has told Arab News.
“During interrogation, it was found that three of the 11 women in the group were suffering from AIDS,” the source said, adding that the Africans had arrived on a fishing boat that had crossed the Red Sea in an attempt to perform Haj.
“The women suspected of carrying the AIDS virus were taken to hospital and medical tests proved that they were indeed HIV positive,” the source explained. The Africans will all be deported soon.
