RIYADH, 20 January 2003 — Municipal and Rural Affairs Minister Dr. Mohammed Al-Jarallah stated yesterday that his ministry implemented municipal projects worth more than SR22 billion during the past two years, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
He made this statement while inaugurating a meeting of the heads of municipalities and rural development centers in the country.
Ahmed Al-Tuwaijeri, director of municipal and rural affairs in Riyadh, said efforts were under way to prepare a regional plan for the Riyadh region.
He said the plan would help achieve a balanced growth for the region. It will have 3,000 housing and commercial plans with 230,000 housing plots. (SPA)
