Two children die in fire

JEDDAH, 21 January 2003 — Two children died in an apartment fire in Jeddah three days ago, Al-Madinah newspaper reported yesterday. Three-year-old Ahmed was playing with a cigarette lighter when rugs in his family’s living room caught fire. The fire spread too fast to other rooms. Ahmed and his sister died because of suffocation.
