DAMMAM, 22 January 2003 — A 14-member Indian business delegation visited the Eastern Province Chamber of Commerce and Industry and exchanged views with their Saudi counterparts on the possibilities of setting up joint ventures in both countries.

During their two-day stay here, the team from the Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturer Association also met with officials of the Saudi Electric Company and Saline Water Conversion Corporation in Alkhobar. They also visited Saudi Aramco.

R.N. Mukhajia, the head of the delegation, told Arab News that the Indian businessmen found Saudi Arabia an investment-friendly market and would explore possibilities of setting up new joint ventures.

The delegation is also promoting the International Exhibition of Power, Electrical, Industrial, Electronics & Allied Products in New Delhi from Feb. 3 to 7.

A delegation member said that now many Indian electrical and electronic products conformed to the specifications of the SEC, SWCC and Saudi Aramco. “Our products match international standards and conform to Saudi specifications,” he said.
