JEDDAH, 30 January 2003 — About 3,700 Singaporeans are expected to perform Haj this year. "To facilitate the movement of these pilgrims, Singapore Airlines will be operating three charter flights from Feb. 3," Singapore Charge d’ Affaires Anthony Chang told a meeting here on Tuesday night. Referring to changes in visa procedure for Saudis entering Singapore after 9/11, Chang welcomed feedback given by the travel trade and the general public.

"Further refinements will be made to facilitate access for Saudis to visit Singapore. About 25,000 Saudis were among the 7.52 million visitors who toured the island in 2002," he added. "We process visas within a week, but in times of emergency genuine travelers could have their visa applications processed within 24 hours."
