Candle Causes 3 Deaths

KURAYAT, 25 February 2003 — Three children died and one was hospitalized in a serious condition after a fire broke out while they were asleep, Al-Watan reported yesterday. The fire was caused by a candle which their mother had lit in her father’s tent in a remote area while visiting him with the children. While the children were asleep, their clothes caught fire resulting in the death of three children and 85 percent burns on the fourth child.
