JEDDAH, 21 March 2003 — King Fahd Cup Tournament leader Al-Ittihad sustained their superb form in the Crown Prince Cup Soccer Tournament with a resounding 5-0 victory over Al-Taie at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium here. A hat trick by Hassan Al-Yami and one goal apiece by Hamza and Kamara rounded off their tally as they advanced to the next round where they will meet Al-Riyadh. Riyadh had to toil against Al-Ansar of Madinah for their 2-1 victory in Riyadh, while Shola too were made to struggle in their 3-2 victory over Abha in Abha.
But Shola now face a tougher assignment against Al-Hilal in the next round. Hilal needed a golden goal in the second extra time, when Badra met beautifully a superb cross from Shalhoub and redirected it into the goal, to beat back the gritty challenge from Al-Qadisiya. This goal resolved the 1-1 regulation time stalemate.
