Women Rescued

RIYADH, 10 April 2003 — Seventy-eight women were rescued from a burning building by the fire brigade early Monday morning, Al-Watan newspaper reported. The director of the Riyadh fire department, Col. Abed Al-Sekeri, said five fire-fighting units and seven rescue teams raced to the scene following an alert, evacuated the women and put out the fire before it could escalate. Four people were treated for smoke inhalation.
