Two years ago, US fighter planes were attacking Afghanistan, destroying everything and killing innocent women and children in the process. Pictures were shown on TV of an infant trying to feed from his mother’s breast, not realizing that she was dead. She had been killed by the bombing of a cave at Tora Bora. At the time, we did not hear anyone calling for support for those poor unfortunate people who were being killed by American jets and tanks. Now, however, we hear people calling for support and prayers for the Iraqi people who are resisting the Anglo-American invasion. We see imams in many mosques offering special prayers every day. In supporting our brothers and sisters in Iraq, we must be honest and truthful to ourselves. We saw what happened to the Afghan people, who became victims of the barbaric American forces.

One may deceive one’s brother, but not his Creator because in the end he will be deceiving himself. Afghanistan was first and Iraq is second. Who will be third? I wonder who among us will be around to pray for them?
