Mideast Roadshow for OFW Reintegration Program

JEDDAH, 17 April 2003 — The OFWNet Foundation and OFW International Holdings, Inc., in cooperation with the Philippine Department of Labor and Employment, is bringing to the Middle East its Roadshow 2003 Presentation on OFW Reintegration Program.

This is in line with a memorandums of agreement between OFWNet, Holdings and DOLE, and betweens with OFWNet Holdings and the Technology and Livelihood Research Center (TLRC).

The agreements indicated the acknowledgment, promotion and implementation of various business and livelihood opportunities for the benefit and welfare of overseas Filipinos worldwide.

The roadshow schedule are as follows:

• April 24, 5 p.m. – Philippine Consulate, Jeddah

• April 25, 5 p.m. – Philippine Embassy, Riyadh

• April 28, 7 p.m. – Park Hotel Al-Khobar

• April 29, 7 p.m. – POLO/OWWA Office, Bahrain

• April 30, 7 p.m. – POLO/OWWA Office, Dubai

• May 2, 11 a.m. – Messilah Beach Hotel, Kuwait

Guest delegates will be coming from Manila for the road show. They include Dr. Chee Garcia, managing director of OFWNet Foundation, and Norman Gacula, chief operating officer of OFW International Holdings, Inc., courtesy of Gulf Air.

Garcia and Gacula will present the OFW reintegration program and other socio-political and economic matters affecting OFWs, said statement issued by OFWNet Jeddah.
