JEDDAH, 18 April 2003 — Al Ahli gained swift revenge for their loss in the Crown Prince Abdullah Cup Soccer final at the hands of Al-Hilal, with a 2-0 victory over the latter in a keen clash yesterday.

In the King Fahd Cup Soccer Tournament, Ahli, who were pushed down a rung by Al-Nasr on Wednesday, regained the second spot with this victory at the Prince Faisal ibn Fahd Stadium in Riyadh.

Hilal, with this defeat, are now in fifth place with 35 points. Ahli have 41 points.

Ahli, held goalless in the first half, went ahead in the second minute after the break with Abdullah Al-Waked hitting true from a set piece. And twelve minutes later, Muhammad Barakat pounced on a defensive lapse to shoot home a brilliant second for Ahli.

In the other game of the day, Al-Qadisiya, who remain fourth with 39 points, drubbed Al-Najma 4-0. Qadisiya are fourth behind Nasr on goal difference.
